A readiness assessment answers one question: is your management system ready for the certification audit? It is most useful when the system is implemented and you want an objective check before you book Stage 1.
What We Look At
- Whether the system covers the full scope and sites
- Whether required documented information is in place and in use
- Whether records show the system has been operating long enough
- Internal audit and management review completion and follow-up
- Evidence of implementation in the processes most likely to be sampled
What You Receive
A short report with an overall readiness view and the specific gaps that could become nonconformities, so you can decide when to schedule Stage 1.
Readiness vs Gap Assessment
| Gap assessment | Readiness assessment | |
|---|---|---|
| When | Early, before or during implementation | Late, when the system is implemented |
| Question | How far are we from the standard? | Are we ready for the certification audit? |
The readiness assessment is separate from certification and gives no advantage in a certification decision.
