Transfer Certification

You can usually move a valid certificate to US Global Standards Registrars without restarting your certification cycle. Organizations transfer for clearer communication, better scheduling, one body for several standards, or auditors with relevant sector experience.

Eligibility

A certificate can normally be transferred when:

  • it is valid (not suspended or withdrawn);
  • the standard and scope fall within what USGSR can certify; and
  • any major nonconformities have been closed.

The Transfer Process

  1. Request a transfer quote with your current certificate, scope, sites and headcount.
  2. Pre-transfer review. We review your certificate, last certification or recertification report, latest surveillance report, open nonconformities and any complaints. A visit may be needed if documents leave questions open.
  3. Transfer decision by a competent reviewer.
  4. New certificate issued for the remainder of your current cycle and published in our verification system.
  5. Next audit (surveillance or recertification) carried out by USGSR on your existing schedule.

Documents to Prepare

Document Why
Current certificate Confirms validity, scope and dates
Last certification or recertification report Shows the full system was assessed
Latest surveillance report Shows recent conformity
Open nonconformities and action plans Confirms nothing is unresolved

Before You Switch

  • Confirm that the certificate you will hold meets your customers’ requirements, including any accreditation requirement. Ask us and we will tell you plainly.
  • Check the notice terms in your current agreement.
  • Avoid transferring just before a surveillance audit is due.
