Lead auditor training prepares experienced professionals to plan, lead and report full management system audits, including second-party audits of suppliers and audits for external stakeholders.
Who It Is For
Quality, HSE, information security and compliance professionals who will lead audit teams; supplier quality engineers; and consultants or auditors building an auditing career. A working knowledge of the relevant standard is recommended before the course.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- explain the principles of auditing and the audit process based on ISO 19011;
- interpret the requirements of the selected standard from an auditor’s perspective;
- plan an audit, prepare an audit plan and work documents, and lead an opening meeting;
- gather and verify objective evidence through interviews, observation and record sampling;
- write clear, evidence-based nonconformities and grade them correctly;
- lead an audit team, manage difficult situations and conduct a closing meeting; and
- prepare an audit report and evaluate corrective action.

Delivery and Duration
In-house at your premises or remotely as a live online course. Duration: 5 days (40 hours).
Assessment
Continuous assessment during exercises and role plays, plus a final written examination.
Certificates and Verification
Participants who meet the attendance and assessment requirements receive a certificate of successful completion issued by US Global Standards Registrars; others receive a certificate of attendance. Every training certificate carries a unique number and QR code and can be verified on our Certificate Verification page. Completion certificates confirm training only; they are not personnel certification or auditor registration unless stated.
Training is delivered separately from certification and gives no advantage in any audit or certification decision.
